The ESFA have published a notification that the Register of Apprenticeship Training Providers will open on 12 December 2018, initially for organisations NOT currently on the Register.For these new providers, their contract is capped at £100,000 in their first year.

The criteria will be published when the window opens but new providers must have been trading for 12 months and be ready to deliver apprenticeships within 12 months of joining the Register.

Key points from the notice are:

• every provider currently listed will also need to reapply at some point, but will be notified when this is required during 2019
• the register will, like the Register of Apprenticeship End Point Assessment Organisations, remain permanently open. Applications will be assessed on the first day of each month from those submitted during the previous month
• assessment of applications will take 12 weeks minimum
