Dear colleagues (message from The post-16 qualifications review team at DfE)
The review of post-16 qualifications at level 3 and below, alongside the development of T Levels, is central to building a world class education system. The review aims to simplify and streamline the current system to ensure that all qualifications approved for funding to have a distinct purpose and be necessary, support progression to good outcomes and be high quality.
DfE first stage consultation is currently open and closes on 10 June 2019; details are available here: https://consult.education.gov.uk/post-16-qualifications-review-team/post-16-level-3-and-below-qualifications-review/
DfE are keen to engage with a wide range of stakeholders and gather as many views and inputs as possible. Therefore, as part of the first stage consultation, DfE would like to invite you to one of five events that are being held around the country to discuss the review and share thoughts and opinions. DfE appreciate this is short notice and apologise in advance for any inconvenience caused.
An agenda can be found here. As part of the day, DfE are offering attendees the opportunity to attend three breakout sessions from the five on offer. When booking your attendance at the consultation event of your choice, you will be asked to confirm which breakout sessions you wish to attend.
Each breakout session is focussed on themes from the consultation. DfE will discuss the relevant consultation questions and other any other relevant issues. The sessions are set out below and a summary of the consultation questions are contained in Annex A of the consultation document, which is available online here: https://consult.education.gov.uk/post-16-qualifications-review-team/post-16-level-3-and-below-qualifications-review/
Please note that places are limited to 100 delegates per event and to 30 or 40 per breakout session – dependent on location. Therefore, DfE ask that you send one representative per organisation.
