For several years UVAC has run a membership committee focused on 16 – 19 qualifications, level 4 and 5 technical education and Apprenticeships. The committee has helped inform UVAC policy and activity in this area, the support we provide our members and fostered the strong development of HEI and Awarding Organisation partnership. For more information access our webpages.
With DfE proposals for Higher Technical Qualifications (at level 4 and 5) and on-going work on T levels the work of this Committee is growing in importance (see invitation to attend a DfE led consultation event). We are looking for new members with an interest in higher technical education at level 4 and 5, T levels and Applied Generals (e.g. BTEC) and partnerships with Awarding Organisations. The Committee meets termly and the next meeting is scheduled for 11thOctober. We are inviting DfE officials with responsibility for Higher Technical Education and T Levels to attend this meeting. Debbie Potts, Policy Lead for T levels at DfE, has confirmed her attendance and is interested in the group’s views on the department’s HE engagement plans, as well as providing some updates on progress with T Levels and HE progression.
