UVAC is delighted to announce a new affiliation with the UK Institute for Technical Skills & Strategy.
UVAC champions higher level technical and professional learning and skills programmes delivered by HE providers and together with the UK Institute for Technical Skills & Strategy has a shared commitment of raising the profile of UK technical skills and careers in higher education, research and innovation.
The UK Institute for Technical Skills and Strategy is funded by Research England, part of UK Research and Innovation and advocates for the technical community, accelerating technical skills and careers in higher education, research and Innovation.
Dr Mandy Crawford-Lee, Chief Executive, UVAC said “In collaboration with organisations like the UK ITSS, our members can successfully develop national networks and global communities in which to share best practice and strengthen technical skills. It makes strategic sense to align the mission and vision of UK ITSS with UVAC’s own; to support progression into the professions and champion the achievement of higher technical and professional learning pathways to the benefit of productivity and social mobility”.
Jo Hartley-Metcalfe, Universities T Level Support Manager for the UK Institute for Technical Skills and Strategy said: “As the UK’s advocate for the technical community in higher education, research and innovation, we are committed to working in partnership with organisations in the sector to ensure greater voice and visibility for the technical community.
“We’re pleased to collaborate with UVAC in relation to technical higher education, degree apprenticeships and T Level industry placements in universities, to encourage investment into post-16 technical qualifications and ensure the long-term sustainability of UK technical skills and careers.”
