This Spring and Summer UVAC continues to offer support to all members through the delivery and facilitation of knowledge networks. The networks support the development of communities of practice that align to several apprenticeship standards and different subject specialisms. All networks are developed, facilitated and co-chaired through working collaboratively with UVAC members.

Quality in Nursing Apprenticeships Network
Monday 12th May 2025 | 11:00 – 13:00
Building on previous discussions to support and facilitate discussion across the sector around sharing of good practice, challenges and enhancements/developments, includes live guest speakers and alignment to Ofsted, OfS and NMC and other regulatory bodies and requirements.
UVAC Higher Education Tripartite Professionals Network
Thursday 29th May 2025 | 13:00 – 16:00
This network seeks to support everyone involved in representing Universities in the apprenticeship tripartite relationship, and those who lead and support this work. If you undertake Progress Review Meetings, provide coaching /mentoring /tutoring to apprentices, or monitor individual learners’ compliance with funding rules, or lead or manage people who do this, then this network aims to support you and develop this professional community of practice.
UVAC Apprenticeship and Skills Doctoral and Researcher Knowledge Network

This is a newly formed UVAC knowledge network to develop a community of practice supporting doctoral students and researchers sharing of research studies where focus of their research is around apprenticeships and skills.
Quality in Allied Health Apprenticeships Network

This network offers the opportunity to explore the challenges, successes, and development for AHP apprenticeships at Local, Regional and National level. More recent network events have focused on the challenges and barriers within the AHP apprenticeship development and the support and process for HCPC approval.
UVAC Apprenticeship Construction & Built Environment (ACBE) Knowledge Network

This new UVAC Apprenticeship Construction & Built Environment (ACBE) Knowledge Network seeks to bring together construction and built environment academic teams with their quality assurance and apprenticeships teams to share good practice, address challenges and seek to deliver innovative solutions.This network is supported by the Technical Apprenticeship Consortium (TAC), the Construction Industry Council (CIC), the Construction Leadership Council (CLC) and the Joint Board of Moderators (JBM).
HTQS Knowledge Network
Thursday 3rd July 2025 | 11:00 – 12:30
The first report of Skills England reiterated the often-rehearsed view that the UK’s business and public services are lagging behind those of our competitor nations. At every stage of the skills journey (technical education, workplace application, and associated productivity) and at every place and level of skills production and usage (workplace, local, regional and national), the UK is seen to be falling short. In this session we will focus on Vocational and Technical Qualifications (or VTQs) at Levels 2 to 5, to reflect on what we can learn from their past, and to make future recommendations that will ensure that they can become truly attractive alternatives to academic learning pathways and, in doing so, help us to address perceived national issues of underperformance.
