Strengthening SME Apprenticeship Success Cases Studies
Strengthening SME Apprenticeship Success is a practical pilot programme designed to support SME managers in getting the very best from apprenticeships. Developed as part of the Apprenticeship Workforce Development (AWD) Programme, this short, targeted pilot focuses on the real-world challenges managers face when supporting apprentices at work.
Alongside this pilot, a series of case studies written by Dr Mandy Crawford-Lee, UVAC Chief Executive share practical insights, lessons learned and examples of what works in practice. Together, they highlight how confident line management, clear communication and effective support can help apprentices thrive — from recruitment and onboarding through to completion and progression.
