Call for SEEC Network Committee Members

Call for SEEC Network Committee Members

SEEC is a UALL Network that aims to ‘advance education for the public benefit by developing credit accumulation and transfer and promoting lifelong learning, at higher education level’. We do this by providing and promoting events and networking opportunities to facilitate the sharing of best practice and new developments in policy and practice. We publish resources for the benefit of higher education practitioners and the wider community, notably the SEEC Credit Level Descriptors, which are featured in the QAA HE Credit Framework for England. SEEC has also contributed, through UALL, to the development of the Lifelong Learning Entitlement (LLE) policy, which ‘will transform the post-18 student finance system in England’ (DfE) based on academic credit.

The SEEC Network is led by Professor Darryll Bravenboer working with Network Committee members who steer the work of the Network to achieve its aims.  We are now seeking new committee members to join SEEC in 2024 to take forward the important contribution SEEC makes to the higher education sector.

What kind of people are we looking for?

We are looking for people who:

  • Have a commitment to creating learning opportunities through credit
  • Can contribute informed perspectives about higher education policies and practice that relate to the use of credit to help steer the work of the Network
  • Can commit to support Network activity including promoting the use of the SEEC Credit Level Descriptors

What would this involve?

  • Attendance at four committee meetings a year
  • Engagement and contribution to SEEC annual webinar series
  • Occasionally representing the SEEC Network at UALL meetings and events
  • Occasionally representing the SEEC Network at external organisation meetings and events

If you are interested in joining the SEEC Network as a committee member, please send through an brief expression of interest detailing your current role and how you could support SEEC to achieve our ambition to [email protected].  Deadline for expressions of interest is Friday the 5th April 2024.
