UVAC signs Workforce Digital Skills Charter

UVAC signs Workforce Digital Skills Charter

We are happy to announce that the University Vocational Awards Council (UVAC) is now a signatory of the Workforce Digital Skills Charter.

The Workforce Digital Skills Charter, from leading industry coalition FutureDotNow, aims to unite employers around a joint mission to close the essential digital skills gap in the UK workforce. The coalition is calling on the government to support a ‘Great Digital Catch Up’ for working-age adults, to boost economic growth and break down barriers to opportunity for all.

Established in December 2019, FutureDotNow is a coalition of industry leaders focused on closing the digital skills gap for working-age adults. According to FutureDotNow there is a significant lack of essential digital skills among working-age adults in the UK, with nearly 22 million adults missing the digital essentials for work. The rise of AI and automation, and the risk of major workforce displacement adds significant urgency to addressing this issue. Together with their charter signatories, FutureDotNow are working towards uniting business to tackle these gaps to build a future-fit workforce that can capitalise on the opportunities of emerging technology and support economic growth, breaking down barriers to opportunity for all.
