Diversity is about being invited to the party; Inclusion is being asked to dance.
Diversity is about being invited to the party; Inclusion is being asked to dance.
That distinction sits at the heart of UVAC’s Innovation Exchange: Advancing Equity, Celebrating Diversity – Inclusive Visions and Innovative Solutions, taking place 10 February 2026 at the Manufacturing Technology Centre, Coventry.
There is still time to register for this in-person event next week, that brings together education, industry and policy leaders from across the UK skills ecosystem to explore how we move beyond good intentions and into meaningful action. As the UK continues to face acute skills shortages—particularly across engineering, manufacturing and priority STEM sectors—the need to widen participation, strengthen inclusive technical pathways and grow talent at every level has never been more urgent.
Against a backdrop of post-16 education reform and skills-led productivity ambitions, the Innovation Exchange will focus on practical, collaborative solutions that connect education and industry more effectively. From higher technical education at Levels 4 and 5, to degree apprenticeships and work-integrated learning, the programme will showcase how flexible, high-quality provision can support economic growth, regional prosperity and workforce sustainability.
Through keynote insights, real-world case studies, interactive workshops and thought-provoking discussions, attendees will leave with practical ideas, fresh perspectives and actionable tools to help advance equity, celebrate diversity and embed inclusion across their organisations and partnerships.
There’s still time to be part of this national conversation shaping the future of technical and vocational education.
