Apprenticeship Levy and Higher Education

Apprenticeship Levy and Higher Education

The Chancellor’s budget announcement of an apprenticeship levy on large employers is likely to have a significant impact on universities and colleges working with employers to deliver apprenticeship and other workforce development programmes.  UVAC will be analysing the detail of what is being proposed and will update our members.

Universities and colleges will be aware of the increasing number of occupations in which Higher Apprenticeships and Degree Apprenticeships are available.  The levy will undoubtedly act as a further incentive (and stick) for employers to engage in apprenticeship delivery and  support the delivery of 3 million apprenticeships this Parliament.
