As UVAC celebrates a quarter of a century of championing higher level vocational learning we are delighted to now share details of three of our keynote speakers for this year’s UVAC National Conference’s programme*
UVAC are delighted that Metro Mayor for West Midlands, Richard Parker, will be giving a keynote presentation, alongside Ben Blackledge, CEO of WorldSkills UK and Alistair Wilson, Head of Student Pathways and Progression, Office for Students. We will be announcing details of other keynote speakers and breakout sessions in the next few weeks.
Registration is now open for the UVAC Conference, which is once again a hybrid event, on Wednesday, 6 November 2024; join us in person at the ICC, Birmingham or online, when the theme is Back to the future in higher technical and professional education and skills.

Richard is the Labour and Co-operative Mayor of the West Midlands and has previously provided strategy, policy and governance advice to the public and private sector.

In his role as CEX, Ben provides leadership and setting direction for WorldSkills UK, a four nations partnership between employers, education and governments, which raises standards in apprenticeships and technical education through international benchmarking and professional development, champions future skills and empowers young people, from all backgrounds, through competition-based training and careers advocacy.
