Coming Soon: UVAC Black Box learning resource

The Black Box is an exciting new resource coming soon for UVAC members, designed specifically to support professionals involved in apprenticeships and skills programmes within higher education. Developed for individuals in management, governance, delivery, and programme design, the Black Box will offer a wealth of tools, templates, podcasts, and toolkits to enhance understanding and practice in the sector.

Following the launch of the Black Box this Spring, fresh material will be added each month, including up-to-date resources tailored to the evolving needs of higher education professionals engaged in apprenticeships.

Access to the Black Box is exclusive to UVAC members who can explore the available sessions and resources on the Black Box page, as well as stay informed about upcoming releases to plan their learning accordingly.

A key feature of the Black Box will be its diverse range of pre-recorded sessions, which cater to different time commitments and learning needs. These sessions will be categorised into four types:

BITES – Short, 10-15 minute sessions designed for quick insights and practical takeaways.

Foundation – Sessions that offer fundamental knowledge, ideal for those new to apprenticeships or seeking a refresher.

Insights – In-depth explorations of key topics, providing a detailed understanding of specific aspects of apprenticeships and skills programmes.

Immersion Webinars – Longer, live sessions that offer interactive opportunities to engage with experts and delve deeper into complex issues.

The flexibility of the Black Box will allow users to create their own personalised playlist of sessions and resources. Whether for role-specific training, induction purposes, refreshing professional practice, or gaining a deeper understanding of apprenticeship frameworks, the platform provides curated content to meet individual learning objectives.

By offering a structured and easily accessible repository of knowledge, the Black Box enhances the capability of higher education professionals in managing and delivering effective apprenticeships and skills programmes. With its blend of concise, foundational, and immersive content, this initiative ensures that UVAC members have the necessary tools and insights to navigate the complexities of apprenticeship education successfully.

The Black Box resource will be live this Spring.
