Revised Specification of Apprenticeship Standards for England (SASE)

Following the consultation exercise to review SASE, the modified SASE, Information Requirement and Guidance documents are now available and can be found here.

The changes came into force from 6 April 2013.

The Skills Minister Matthew Hancock MP released a press notice welcoming the changes to SASE and highlighting developments with Apprenticeship at Level 6 and Level 7.
Other key changes to SASE include:

1.   an increase of the minimum credit value
2.   recognition of Higher Apprenticeships at Level 6 and Level 7
3.   incorporation of the use and authentication of professional qualifications
4.   protection of the brand
5.   consistency, standards and quality

UVAC worked with the National Apprenticeship Service and the Alliance of Sector Skills Councils to to develop guidance that supports Apprenticeship framework developers and issuing authorities revise, develop and approve frameworks according to new requirements on the basis of employer and learner need.
