TOPIC: Self-assessment and self-evaluation in apprenticeship delivery
In the ever-evolving landscape of Apprenticeships, where change is not just constant but necessary, institutions find themselves at a critical juncture. They are tasked with not only delivering quality education but also adapting to the shifting demands of learner’s needs, employers, funders and Ofsted. An effective self-evaluation process stands as a beacon of insight, providing a catalyst for transformation, and a guide for future planning.
Kerry Boffey, CEO and founder of the fellowship of inspection nominees (FIN) in partnership with UVAC will deliver a webinar designed to take participants on a journey into the heart of self-evaluation—what it entails, why it matters, and how it can reshape the future of apprenticeship delivery. Beyond being a compliance exercise, self-evaluation is a proactive process that invites institutions to scrutinise their practices, impact on leaners, and outcomes. It challenges organisations to identify strengths that should be celebrated and areas for improvement that need to be addressed.
At its core, self-evaluation is about impact on learner’s supported by data-driven decision-making. An effective self-evaluation process empowers educational leaders to navigate the complexities of their institutions, make informed choices about the Apprenticeship delivery, and set ambitious goals. The self-assessment report and accompanying quality improvement plan provides a tool for fostering accountability, transparency, and a culture of excellence. We will also look at some of the challenges in meeting the needs of the EIF where some aspects might not sit comfortably with degree level apprenticeships.
Join us as we delve deeper into the world of self-evaluation, explore its pivotal role Apprenticeship delivery, and learn how it can be a driving force behind meaningful change. You will also have the opportunity to hear about FIN, the support it provides and how your organisation might benefit from joining.
