Colleagues may have picked up on media reports and comments from the Association of Employment and Learning Providers (AELP) questioning the responsibility for quality assessment of Degree Apprenticeship.
UVAC has corresponded with both HEFCE and QAA and can confirm:
The official position remains unchanged, namely that:
– Under its statutory duty, HEFCE will take the lead on quality assessment of Degree Apprenticeships.
– HEFCE sub-contracts monitoring of the code to QAA.
– There is no contract with Ofsted for HE provision, including Degree Apprenticeship, nor is any planned.
