Higher and Degree Apprenticeships Knowledge Networks dates for new academic year announced

UVAC is delighted to announce the upcoming dates for our Knowledge Networks for the new academic year 2024/25.

The Higher and Degree Apprenticeships Knowledge Networks (DAKNs) provide a collaborative forum for higher education (HE) practitioners, staff, and academics to collaborate and discuss apprenticeships, the HE skills landscape and other technical and professional qualifications.

Dr Nicky Westwood, is the lead UVAC Associate for the networks, and comments

“UVAC knowledge networks provide a myriad of benefits for UVAC members. The collaboration and support from the networks bring together different individuals with diverse skills and expertise.  The networks provide a safe space to discuss different perspectives, share challenges, explore innovative solutions and the opportunity to learn from each other’s experiences, expertise, and best practices. The rich discussions and interactions at the networks provide peer to peer support , reflection and highlight further opportunities for collaborative work and research forming a supportive community of practice. I feel privileged to have the opportunity to facilitate the networks and excited to continue to work in collaboration with our members.”

With 25 sessions, across the 7 different networks currently available, and more in the planning, meet-ups are both offered online and in person, giving participants lots of opportunities for meaningful discussions, sharing innovative and best practices, collaborating with peers and staying updated with the latest developments in the sector.

Each of the UVAC Knowledge Networks:

  • Align with the academic year
  • Comprise 3-4 events annually, online and face-to-face
  • Involve peer discussions, Q&A, guest speakers, and showcases
  • Hosted by UVAC members

Information about each individual DAKN is available on the UVAC website, as well as dates and event booking details for meet-ups.
