Join us for our 4th update on the policies and processes that are impacting on higher technical education and skills including higher and degree apprenticeships. We will be reflecting on IfATE, ESFA/DfE decisions that are impacting on apprenticeship and technical provision including aspects of progression, credit transfer and funding. This event is increasingly a “go to” monthly event for members only, as UVAC is probably THE most authoritative voice on all strategic and operational aspects of higher and degree apprenticeships delivered by HEIs and the approaching change to higher technical qualifications (HTQs) .
You can REGISTER HERE to join us on Friday, 6 November at 12 noon.
Last month we featured the recent update from DfE on the announcement to make Ofsted the single regulatory body responsible for the quality of all apprenticeship training, at all levels. Since then we have had an announcement by the the Institute for Apprenticeships and Technical Education that it is preparing to “simplify and strengthen” apprenticeships that have a “statutory regulator” and an “established professional competency test”.
It would mean that in situations where an apprentice has met a statutory regulator’s requirements to practise, this will be counted as that apprentice’s end-point assessment. Currently, 28 standards that are approved for delivery could be impacted. We will reflect on the implications for practice during our update.
