Breaking News – Apprenticeship Accountability Statement – Quality

DfE published its Apprenticeship Accountability Statement today (3 April) settling the issue of who is responsible for regulating Degree Apprenticeships.

Ofsted will inspect the quality of apprenticeship training provision from level 2 to level 5. Hefce will regulate the quality of degree apprenticeships at level 6 & 7.

Where there are “apprenticeship providers at level 4 and/or 5 where the apprenticeship standard contains a prescribed HE qualification” – the statement confirms that “HEFCE and Ofsted will reach a judgement, informed by joint working”.
